The Helping Our Future Today program addresses a persistent and visible challenge in Ipswich: intergenerational disadvantage. The city’s SEIFA index of 958 highlights higher relative disadvantages than most Queensland regions, and for many families, basic needs like food, clothing, and school resources remain daily struggles. Through targeted school programs and values local partnerships, Helping Our Future Today provides: 

• 200 breakfasts and 10 boxes of fruit weekly at Tivoli State School and other local schools
• Uniform and hygiene support for children in crisis 
• Monthly food hampers distributed through schools and welfare partners 
• Financial support for excursions, sporting events, and graduation celebrations

   

This support removes the invisible barriers that keep children from participating fully and confidently in their education. The program’s success is perhaps best described by Tivoli State School Principal Perry Jones, who said CSI’s involvement has “transformed lives through care, connection, and opportunity.”
